Transaction Analysis Demo from RM 5 Intro Day

Created: 2010-04-30 08:19:39      Last updated: 2010-05-05 09:58:51

This is the demo process presented at the RapidMiner 5 Intro Day. It combines customer segmentation with direct mailing.

It loads some transaction data, aggregates and pivotes the data so it can be used by a clustering to perform a customer segmentation. Then, additional data is joined with the clustered data. First, response/no-response data is joined, and them some additional information about the users is added. Finally, customers are classified into response/no-response classes.

The data used by this workflow is available in xls Format at

http://www.rapid-i.com/downloads/tutorial/TransactionData.xls

http://ww.rapid-i.com/downloads/tutorial/BaseData.xls

http://www.rapid-i.com/downloads/tutorial/ResponseData.xls

They still have to be imported into the RapidMiner repository to make the workflow run.

    Hi Simon,

I'm having a lot of problems getting this to import into RapidMiner 5.0.  I downloaded the MS Excel files and have them in a Repository.  But when I import the process I get the error "

    • Message: Cannot parse document: Content is not allowed in prolog.

    Do you have any advice?

I am really having problems getting the hang of RapidMiner.  After reading the documentation, I still can't seem to get any processes set up.  I was hoping a full sample of processes and data would make it clear.

    Thanks,

    Rick
